Plaka Neighborhood (Interesting Neighborhoods / Romantic Strolls)
Known as the “Neighborhood of the Gods,” Plaka is the oldest district in Athens and possibly the most romantic. Its winding cobblestone streets and neoclassical houses create a postcard-perfect setting.
Couples will adore strolling past bougainvillea-covered balconies, quaint cafés, and artisan shops selling everything from handmade sandals to traditional sweets.
Despite its popularity, Plaka manages to retain a village-like charm. You’ll often see locals chatting with shop owners, while children play along the streets. It’s also a fantastic area for photography.
At night, Plaka becomes especially magical, with twinkling lights and traditional tavernas offering live Greek music.
